Your Auto Locksmith for Stoke-on-Trent

Who Is the Auto Locksmith for Stoke-on-Trent?

AutoVault is the car and auto locksmith for Stoke-on-Trent, covering all six towns from its own unit at Bramshall Industrial Estate in Uttoxeter, about 15 miles from Longton by the A50. AutoVault cuts and programmes car keys, opens locked cars and repairs ignitions at the car, with no call-out fee.

Stoke-on-Trent is the largest settlement in Staffordshire, a city of about 260,000 people formed in 1910 from six towns, Tunstall, Burslem, Hanley, Stoke-upon-Trent, Fenton and Longton, and granted city status in 1925. Hanley is the commercial centre, Stoke-upon-Trent gave the city its name and its main station, and the whole area is still known as the Potteries.

AutoVault is run by Ben Astle, and the phone is answered by the person who comes out, not by a call centre. Every job is done where the car is, so there is no tow and no dealer booking. When every key has gone, the lost car key replacement service makes a new key at the car from the registration and proof of ownership.

Stoke-on-Trent Prices in 2026

How Much Does an Auto Locksmith Cost in Stoke-on-Trent?

Auto locksmith prices in Stoke-on-Trent start from £50 for key cutting and from £180 when every key is lost, with no call-out fee. Unlocking starts from £85, key programming from £60 and a spare or replacement key from £145, confirmed from the registration before travelling.

Three things move the price. The first is the key type, because a smart key for a newer car costs more than a blade with a remote. The second is whether a working key is left. The third is the time, because a call late at night can cost more than the same job in the day. The town does not change the price, so a job in Tunstall costs the same as the same job in Longton.

Arrival Times From the Base

How Long Does AutoVault Take to Reach You in Stoke-on-Trent?

An AutoVault arrival in Stoke-on-Trent can be about 25 to 35 minutes in Longton and Fenton and 35 to 45 minutes in Hanley. The base at Bramshall Industrial Estate is 15 miles from Longton by the A50, and the time for your exact street is confirmed on the call.

The A50 runs from Uttoxeter past Blythe Bridge and Meir into the south of the city, so Longton and Fenton are reached first. It joins the A500, the D road, close to the bet365 Stadium, and the A500 runs on north through the city towards Burslem and Tunstall.

Burslem and Tunstall in the north are the furthest, about 22 to 23 miles from the base, so an arrival there can be about 40 to 50 minutes. Match days at the stadium and peak traffic on the A50 and A500 are what most often add time, so say exactly where the car is and the quickest way in is planned before setting off.

Local Knowledge

Where in Stoke-on-Trent Does AutoVault Work?

Stoke-on-Trent has no single centre, so calls come from right across the city. The A500, known locally as the D road, links junctions 15 and 16 of the M6 and carries traffic between the towns, and the A50 from Uttoxeter joins it near the bet365 Stadium.

Royal Stoke University Hospital at Hartshill is a major trauma centre with more than 1,300 beds, the bet365 Stadium has been the home of Stoke City since it opened in 1997, and the Potteries Shopping Centre in Hanley is the main shopping centre in the city. Each brings full car parks and a steady run of lockouts and lost keys.

Festival Park stands on the site of the 1986 National Garden Festival, built on land once used by the Shelton Bar steelworks, and the University of Staffordshire has its main campus beside Stoke-on-Trent station.

Hanley City Centre

The Potteries Shopping Centre, the bus station and the car parks around them, where lockouts and lost keys are the most common calls.

Royal Stoke University Hospital

Staff and visitor car parks off Newcastle Road at Hartshill, about 19.9 miles from the base, covered for lockouts and lost keys.

bet365 Stadium

Stanley Matthews Way, close to where the A50 meets the A500. On a match day, call early with the car park, because the roads around the ground are slow.

Stoke Station and the University

Commuter and student parking around Stoke-on-Trent station and the University of Staffordshire campus beside it.

Festival Park

The retail and leisure park near Hanley, where keys locked inside at the shops and the leisure venues are covered at the car.

Drivers stuck without a working key on the A50 or the D road are met at the nearest safe place to stop.

AutoVault came to produce a spare key for my vehicle and programme a lost one out of the system. The service was exceptional and communication was excellent throughout. I was called before arrival (on time) and he did a stellar job. My vehicle posed several issues with the programming process and he went above and beyond to resolve this for me, perservering and having to come back the next day after some additional time and work was needed to complete the job which he did successfully. Extremely knowledgeable and professional, and a top guy! I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I will definitely use again in future.

We were locked out our car at Alton Towers and had no other option but to Google for car locksmith. We tried the first one that came up and so glad we did! They came to us within 20 minutes, got us in the car quickly with no damage at all done to the car. Would 100% recommend if you are in the area. We are from Scotland so wasn't sure who to use but glad we used these guys.

I have a courtesy car and the key fob stopped working. The garage were shut for the whole weekend and I needed the use of a car. Ben was amazing and went over and beyond. He was very patient with me trying to identify where the emergency override was. . He then offered to come out and he arrived within 15 minutes. Bizarrely the key fob started to work as he pulled up. He still checked the fobs battery for me and showed me where the override on the car was. He refused to charge me the agreed call out charge. In fact he refused to charge me at all. If I could have given him 10 stars I would .Very knowledgeable and a gentleman. If you ever get locked out of your car definitely give Ben a call
